Position Summary: Self-motivator, leader and mentor, who champions the collaboration, communication and documentation efforts of Molin’s project and site specific precast concrete erection requirements. The ideal candidate will have either precast concrete erecting experience or commercial construction experience. This individual will be the pipeline between Molin Concrete Field Operations Department and our external customers (CMGC), who leads with a creative approach to solving complex and unique project and site constraints to the benefit of Molin Concrete. The candidate will utilize their industry experience and knowledge, with the goal of placing Molin Concrete’s Field erecting crews in the best position to erect projects in a ready, safe, effective and efficient manner.
Manage and control assigned projects, overseeing the job site-specific coordination, documentation and collaboration requirements between Molin Concrete Products and CMGC’s.
Collaborate with Molin Project Manager and Molin Field Manager, to develop an efficient, effective and safe erection of all projects.
Establish, document and communicate precast erection schedule, sequence and direction with CMGC and other Molin departments.
Coordination and documentation with the CMGC, to ensure required truck and crane access roads/pads are achieved to the needs of Molin Concrete Products and prior to mobilization.
Thorough documentation via digital platform (Bluebeam, AutoCAD or other), to CMGC and Molin Concrete of all job site specific, site readiness, logistical requirements.
Visit, inspect and field verify the jobsite prior to Molin crew mobilization and installation date.
Establish and coordinate requirements for Molin Field Quality Control to perform site layout and survey prior to erecting crew arrival onsite and to minimize mistakes in Drafting, Production and other trades. Minimize the need for rework by Field Installation crews.
Develop and communicate site specific safety plans and review with erection foreman prior to site mobilization.
Provide constructability and design input based on field erecting experience.
Provide pre, active and post installation quality control reviews of precast concrete erection. Collaborate with Field Quality Control on jobsite visits and documentation.
Work directly with equipment vendors to coordinate and schedule rented machinery that satisfies project requirements in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Coordinate and schedule Molin subcontractors (caulking, grouting, etc.) as required for project completion.
Develop and collaborate with Project Manager on installation plans, crane requirements and crane layout for each assigned project that results in a safe, efficient, high quality outcome.
Collaborate with contractors and other internal departments through pre-construction and planning phases.
Lead efforts for corrective measures needed for ongoing and/or completed projects to satisfy customers demands. Communicate corrective action to internal and external customers.
Collaborate with Molin Field Manager to coordinate availability of internal resources (crane, crew, etc.) to support customers’ schedules.
Promptly communicate critical information to internal customers such as delivery dates and installation sequence/direction. Participate in weekly Project Management meetings to monitor alignment of Engineering/Drafting/Production goals with changing customer demands as projects progress.
Provide coaching, mentoring and leadership that reinforces Molin’s commitment to promoting safety in every aspect of the project. Incorporate safety in all decision-making. Confront all unsafe situations/actions.
Coaching, training and mentoring of Molin Field personnel.
Responsible for proper documentation of information exchanged at site and internal meetings relevant to project execution and for updating systems for easy access by all stakeholders. All verbal commitments on jobsites are to be documented, signed off by customers.
Acceptance that this position requires the individual to either have experience with or learn the use of standard industry digital software tools (Bluebeam, AutoCAD, other) and communication methods (email, text messaging).
Attend CMGC project meetings as required.
Maintain or obtain PCI Certified Field Auditor (CFA) Certification within 1 year of hire date.
Willingness to learn and implement new industry means, methods, technologies and processes.
Regional travel as required for projects.
Education and Experience:
B.S. in Construction Management or related course of study preferred, or 10 years of industry specific experience.
At least seven years of construction industry experience, preferably in the Precast Concrete Industry.
